Birmingham, UK - 01/12/22 - TENSTAR announces that it will be pausing Valorant operations with immediate effect. The club cited several factors for the decision: sustainability, and the financial pressure of investing in a developing title eco-system in a turbulent economic time.
In a statement the club said:
We have explored and had conversations with RIOT and three of the newly formed Valorant Challenger Leagues, the outlook is extremely positive in principle, though still going through an adjustment.
We are certain the eco-system will settle and mature, we will re-enter when it does. We have invested heavily into the title over the last 20 months and had some stellar highs. It has inspired us and made us fall in love with Valorant, Game Changers and the community.
As importantly, whilst we have been exceptional on the server, we have not in other areas. Our growth and our people have been extraordinary throughout. Taking our club to places in Valorant we never even dreamed of.
We have risen stars all over the eco-system, counting a world champion, double EMEA champions, UK & I Champions and East Regional Champions among our achievements.
We are truly grateful to all of our Valorant supporters, players, coaches and backroom staff who are all true #RISINGSTARS
This rapid success has come at a cost. We have to reset and it starts from the top. We have some crazy exciting opportunities ahead, but that requires focus. We will slow things down, set things right and build again.
TENSTAR VALORANT mission suspended.
On the future of the club TENSTAR said:
We will continue to support and invest in Rainbow Six Siege. The eco-system is already established and there is a clear pathway for supporting organisations.
We will re-enter Valorant, with other focuses being titles that match our school age audiences and younger fans.
Sending peace and love,
