TENSTAR are proud to announce a strategic partnership with Acti-Fit, one of the UK's leading businesses in the schools, sports development and community health sector.
TENSTAR and Acti-Fit hope to build a solid and prosperous partnership based on shared core values such as striving for excellence, making an impact, integrity, and teamwork.
Since its conception in 2019, Acti-Fit has delivered more than 1000 meals for children through its Breakfast Club programme. In 2021, bouncing back from the hardships of the pandemic, they have launched a brand new provision named ‘SPARK’. This provision is centred around providing disengaged children with an alternative pathway into education, working alongside local authorities in the Midlands.
This is along with building on their community routes, successfully securing contracts with England Rugby to help enhance inclusion in the sport across the City of Birmingham.
TENSTAR, through its TENSTAR SCHOOLS SPACE PROGRAMME, recently ran a successful pilot education session, in partnership with Acti-Fit at Wolston's St Margaret's Primary school, Coventry.
Following the incredible feedback and momentum gained from the pilot, TENSTAR and Acti-Fit were successful in a tender to run a Christmas HAF (Holiday Activities and Food Programme) with Walsall Council.
This programme is a result of the wonderful campaign spearheaded by footballer Marcus Rashford and is designed to help fill the holiday experience gap for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The combined offering will see up to 50 children fed throughout the Christmas holidays, whilst giving them an immersive and enjoyable experience through varied daily activities, including esports.
On the new partnership, Tom Roderick, CEO of TENSTAR said:
"I've been a long time admirer of Acti-Fit. The work they did for young people and mental health during the first lockdown was absolutely inspirational. Getting the chance to work together to build the TENSTAR SCHOOLS SPACE PROGRAMME is so huge for our club and will move the programme forward immeasurably. They already work with more than 30 schools across the Midlands, as well as working alongside multiple local authorities and NGB’s. Ellis and Alex are two real emerging Executive talents too, can't wait to see how we can work further together."
Acti-fit Managing Director, Ellis Bailey said:
"TENSTAR's emergence has been nothing short of breath-taking. After a few short conversations with Tom, it's clear both businesses shared common values and his passion for digital inclusion shone through. After running successful pilot events, it's clear we have a truly unique product that can revolutionise the way gaming/esports is fused with education. I'm delighted that the children in our camps will get to experience them first-hand at Christmas. With multiple projects in the pipeline, the possibilities are endless for this partnership."
